Ingredients:
¼ cup margarine or butter
1 ½ cups sifted Maya all-purpose flour
¼ cup sugar
1/8 teaspoon salt
4 eggs
2 cups water
1 teaspoon vanilla
Oil for deep frying
Procedures:
In a saucepan, put the water and butter. Cook over medium heat until water boils and butter melts. Combine flour, sugar and salt. Add all at once to the water-butter mixture. Stir until mixture separates from the sides of the pan.
Remove from heat and cool slightly. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in vanilla. Transfer mixture to a pastry bag fitted with a star tip. Heat oil in a saucepan. Pipe out strips of the mixture directly into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown. Drain then roll in sugar.
